The King And The Killer

© 2017 Leo Troy

You might say, the best of life, is waitin outside of the door
Let it in and let me go, cause I can’t wait no more
We came close tonight, now the traffics light to be walking on the road
Put a dollar in my hand, we’ll see how far it goes

Rock ‘n roll is the only life I know
It don’t take much for me to let it show
If I get time I’ll move this heavy load
But for now, we’ll justa rock ‘n roll (the king and the killer)

A nation wakes it’s sleepy eyes, I’m miles headed out of town
A morning mist just fades away, the sun burns up the ground
Well, it’s another day of driving desire to chase down another mile
And life is closer in the rear view mirror than it has been all my life

Chorus

I had a feeling I was floating, belief that I could fly
Where ever I was going, I wouldn’t wonder why

Chorus

Don’t ask me to explain myself, if you don’t get it, I can’t help
With all my plans come crashing down, I’m settin up shop in KOA campground
You can hang on too much like there’s no tomorrow, with any shred of hope you can beg or borrow
It’s a lot to ask that you understand, I guess you sensed that the last time we shook hands
Chorus (repeat)
